If you would like to use natural gas for your business, we are offering grants of up to 15% of the cost of purchasing and installing natural gas appliances to help you do so.1


Do you use fuel oil for your business?

To help you switch from fuel oil to natural gas and thus reduce your greenhouse gas emissions, Énergir is offering you an additional grant of up to $1,250.2

Find out which grants your business could obtain

The grant amounts will vary, depending on the size of your business, on your sector and on the equipment you plan to install. Below are some examples of businesses that have switched to natural gas and of the grant amounts they received.

Small industry - replacing a fuel oil appliance

A small business currently uses a fuel oil boiler for heating. To reduce costs and increase performance, a decision was made to purchase a new natural gas boiler.

The business will receive a total grant of $5,800, divided as follows:
  • $ 2,800 for the natural gas boiler1
  • $ 1,250 to switch from heating-oil to natural gas.2 
  • an additional $1,750 if a high-efficiency model is chosen3
In addition to these many grants, the business could save close to $4,200 per year on its heating bill, compared with what it used to pay for oil.4

Small business - replacing a fuel oil applliance

A medium-sized service or retail business installs a natural gas warm-air furnace to replace its oil furnace.

The business will receive a total grant of $2,550, divided as follows:
  • $1,800 for the natural gas warm-air furnace1
  • $ 750 to switch from heating-oil to natural gas.2

Energy efficiency : a smart way to reduce your energy bill

By choosing high-efficiency equipment over standard equipment, you could reduce your energy consumption while maintaining the same level of comfort and performance. In addition, the grants offered are higher when you choose energy-efficient equipment. Here are a number of ideas for high-efficiency equipment

1. The rebates are applicable to businesses located on the Énergir gas network and equipped with central heating appliances, provided that they do not have a heat pump or dual-energy heating system. The amount of financial assistance is based on expected natural gas consumption, the type of appliance to be installed and the total amount of the investment. The 15% total corresponds to a potential customer who installs a natural gas warm-air furnace with a capacity of 10,000 m3. The rebates are subject to credit approval and eligibility for the natural gas Consumption Rebate Program and the Energy Efficiency Program.. The terms and conditions of the program and the amounts of financial assistance are subject to change without notice. A five-year natural gas supply contract is required. Other conditions may apply. The financial assistance will only be paid once the natural gas appliance(s) is(are) installed. The eligibility criteria are listed in the Consumption Rebate Program guide approved by the Régie de l’énergie, a copy of which may be obtained on request.

The rebates are applicable to businesses located on the Énergir gas network and equipped with oil-fired central heating appliances, provided that they do not have a heat pump or dual-energy heating system and that the expected new natural gas appliance consumption is at least of 3,600m3 of natural gas. Other conditions may apply. The terms and conditions of the program and the amounts of financial assistance are subject to change without notice. To benefit from this grant, you must sign a contract with Énergir or an Énergir Natural Gas Certified Partner first.
