Energy efficiency

  • Énergir was the first energy distributor in Québec to develop, in 2001, a global energy efficiency plan.
  • The plan offers financial assistance programs to Énergir’s 209,000 customers to promote the acquisition of energy-efficient appliances and the implementation of energy-efficient measures.
  • Since 2001, energy efficiency programs have reduced GHG emissions by more than 1 million tonnes.

Grants

Every year, close to 900 businesses receive a rebate of up to 30% on equipment purchase and installation costs. This rebate is calculated based on the volume of natural gas consumed and on the appliances selected. This is complementary to our energy efficiency programs. Safety and prevention

Natural gas is a safe energy source. However, it’s important to follow basic safety measures and maintain the equipment properly. An expert team monitors the network 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. At Énergir, over half of our employees work on activities related to planning, maintaining, repairing and developing the gas distribution system. These 690 experts have a single focus—ensuring a reliable, uninterrupted, safe supply of natural gas.
