Switch to natural gas

Below are all the natural gas appliances available for your home.

Note that regardless of the appliance chosen, the grant offered depends on your consumption volume. To find out more about the costs and procedure to follow to switch to natural gas, see the steps for connecting your home. To facilitate your switch to natural gas, Énergir offers rebates that you can take advantage of under certain conditions.

Specifically, three types of grants may apply:

• A grant when you choose an energy-efficient appliance that will allow you to consume less energy.¹
• A grant when replacing an oil-fired appliance with a natural gas appliance.²
• Other rebates may apply depending on your volume of natural gas consumption. Please contact us for more information.³

1. The rebates are applicable to homes located on the Énergir gas network and equipped with central heating appliances, provided that they do not have a heat pump or dual-energy heating system. Total financial assistance amounts must not exceed eligible expenses. Other conditions may apply. The terms and conditions of the program and the amounts of financial assistance are subject to change without notice. To benefit from this grant, you must sign a contract with Énergir or an Énergir Natural Gas Certified Partner first.

2 The rebates are applicable to homes located on the Énergir gas network and equipped with oil-fired central heating appliances, provided that they do not have a heat pump or dual-energy heating system and that the expected consumption of the appliance installed is of at least 2,500m3 of natural gas. The rebates are subject to credit approval and eligibility for the natural gas Consumption Rebate Program and the Energy Efficiency Program. The rebate is not applicable for those building their own home, or for residences which are part of new housing construction. The rebate may vary, depending on the appliances installed and other factors. The terms and conditions of the program and the amounts of financial assistance are subject to change without notice. To benefit from this grant, you must sign a contract with Énergir or an Énergir Natural Gas Certified Partner first.

3. The rebates are applicable to homes located on the Énergir gas network and equipped with central heating appliances, provided that they do not have a heat pump or dual-energy heating system and that the expected consumption of the appliance installed is of at least 2,750m3 of natural gas. The rebates are subject to credit approval and eligibility for the natural gas Consumption Rebate Program and the Energy Efficiency Program. The rebate is not applicable for those building their own home, or for residences which are part of new housing construction. The rebate may vary, depending on the appliances installed and other factors. The terms and conditions of the program and the amounts of financial assistance are subject to change without notice. To benefit from this grant, you must sign a contract with Énergir or an Énergir Natural Gas Certified Partner first.

1-2-3: The cost to switch to natural gas includes a basic connection charge of $300. An additional cost may apply if an extension to the natural gas network is needed, plus an additional contribution based on the expected consumption of natural gas.
